I've been thinking of possibly getting a gameshell but it says it is out of stock
Any idea of when it will be back?

I just checked the official Gameshell forum, but it looks like there is still no new production run due to the pandemic. You might try to find one second hand, although you probably wouldn't have the fun of assembling it (if you like these things).

Also you should know, that LowRes NX for Gameshell is just for running programs, there is no editor for coding. And only games using GAMEPAD work, there is no keyboard or touchscreen.
It's still quite fun to play some NX games on it.
