Nice images :) Anyway, I'm missing a "replay" option and maybe a little title screen. Another idea: How about changing the background color randomly whenever a new monster appears? Might be fun.

On the background color, I currently have a white flashover briefly upon addition which returns to gray... are you suggesting changing either of these colors, or removing the flash and simply change the background color instead of the flash...

Hm, not sure, maybe try keeping the flash, but afterwards put always a different random color? It will make it more difficult to see where the new monster appears, so you really have to remember.

It doesn't really have the effect I expected, but I still like that it's more colorful :) Also the little title screen makes the game feel more complete, nice!
