So at the moment, we can put the sound through either the right or left speaker, but I think it would be really cool if we could put it through both speakers, with different volumes, so that the sound can “fade” to one side or the other. Thoughts?

You CAN... by setting voice 0 to left with soft volume, and voice 1 to right with loud volume... set both to otherwise sound the same...
Then, slowly increase one while decrease the other (volume wise) and it will sound like one sound is traveling in surround sound.,, :)

Using two voices is a good idea! Otherwise I want to keep the simple left/right system as 8-bit systems mostly didn't have stereo at all or very simple (like Game Boy and Game Gear using headphones).
