My LowRes NX Editor Feature Wishlist

Hello! I wouldn’t call this a feature request since I’m sure Timo has enough on his plate without updating the app. But thought I might as well share these ideas. :) Ideas are sorted by my guess of how much work they would take to implement. Easy/near-trivial to hard/very-difficult.

Multi line comment / uncomment highlighted text (similar to indent or out-dent)
Optional Line Numbers
Syntax Highlighting
- Maybe you can use Highlightr if the app is built in swift: https://github.com/raspu/Highlightr
  - Has BASIC Support
  - Themes I think could go with the app:
    - Flat, Materia, Material, Oceanicnext, Papercolor Dark, Phd, Rebecca, Silk Dark, Solarized Dark, Nova, Felipec (doesn’t exactly match the app colors but it’s super easy to read imo)

The ' symbol which functions just like REM does, can visually create a nice block of comments... you just have ' along the left side of the screen...

The existing "SEARCH AND REPLACE" works good enough for me...

.... and NX has an APPLE simplicity to it... i rather like that it has a standard color, etc... feels right for me ;)

.... you have some neat ideas, maybe i just love NX as is ;)

The iOS version isn't truly an IDE, it relies upon a generic OS text entry API. The developer, Timo, has mentioned this a few times. It's the reason there's no Android version, and the PC/Mac/Linux versions require you supply your own source-code editor.

All that said, the features you've mentioned are essentially editor features, not really part of the console itself. Since the console can parse various line encodings, you're not limited to the OS API...

Maybe try a different source code editor? There's tons on the app store... I suppose it would be kinda tough to run your code between apps, though.
