Work in Progress

Zelda OoT

7

I thought I would try and recreate some mechanics from my favorite Zelda game.

I’ve been working on it for a little while and it’s still an early demo.
Tell me what you think so far!

The left gamepad is for movement and the B button can be used to mount Epona.
The sword is removed for now because I want to add it to the pause screen first.

Pause to toggle item select. Use arrow pad to cycle items and press A to select. Then press the gamepad to set a C button.

While unpaused, use the right gamepad to select an item on C (for now, only the ocarina does anything). When you select the ocarina, the game will pause and you can use the gamepad to play notes. It also recognizes which song you play. When you’re done, press B to cancel out.

Update 2: Ocarina screen expanded, songs added, disabled diagonal buttons (to reduce chance of error), centered the song name, and you can now press the the pause button to reset.

Update 3: Ocarina graphic updated to display on startup (It was on C left before. You just couldn’t see it). I also made it so that when the song plays back, I can set the timing between notes per song. Every song from the game is in there.

impossible to play on pc :( controls are way too hard

What’s difficult about the controls? If it helps, gamepad 2 is only used in game and not in the inventory or ocarina screen. Gamepad 1 is for movement and gamepad 2 is for c buttons. Only the a and b buttons on gamepad 2 are used and not the ones on gamepad 1.

Ive never played zelda, so i am lost in that i am unfamiliar with the game... but it really is looking incredible :D

Thank you, I really appreciate it! I'm really just messing around with different mechanics from the original game. I'm also planning on putting the notes for each song in the pause menu. For now, you can look online if you don't know how to play a song. Here are some to try out though if you want:
down A down A right down right down
left up right left up right
up left right up left right
right A down right A down
A down up A down up

Does a correctly inputed song cause something to happen, like yield temporary powers, summons help, open a specific door/lock, etc,?.

Not yet ;)
