Yet another paint/pixel art program. But it’s a pretty good balance of resolution, color depth, UI response.
Can’t believe I never thought of it before, but when using the whole Y-scroll in the raster interrupt, there’s always so much wasted character tile space. And since I’m using all 256 characters to be able to draw logical pixels at a size of 2x2 with full palette depth, over 8,000 pixels were sitting empty and seemingly unusable. Cue the lightbulb moment. Sprites are affected by raster scrolling as well! So all I have to do is have my raster sub turn the sprite on at the right line with the right offset, then change the character index appropriately, then turn the sprite off, and voila! What I thought was a limitation was a limitation no more.
Now all I gotta do is add in some useful tools, importing/exporting, make an engine for using the gfx generated with this as ROM data, etc, etc.
