hey, not sure if you guys remember me but this is dh*phoenix (i was in lowres coder 6 years ago when I was 13, and i left once it was removed from the app store). if you remember me, then i offer you my sincerest greetings haha

i have grown a lot since then, and now i am studying computer science in college. but i don't think i would be as interested in computer science if it wasn't for the support of this wonderful community. thanks so much timo for developing this project and maintaining such a wonderful community that is still active to this day. i am indeed very grateful

i'm not sure whether i will have the time to make NX programs in the near future cause of college work, but know that i'll always be cheering from the sidelines haha :)

Original no longer exists in the apple store... the programs, last time I checked, can still be downloaded from the chat space if u still have the original lowres app...

@ dh*phoenix.. welcome to NX .... if u have an original you would like to see here, let me know and I will attempt it ;)

Lowres Coder is probably on some internet archive somewhere.

Dh*Phoenix, this is a very nice story to hear :)

If you are studying computer science now, I would not really recommend LowRes NX. Its language is too limited and you won't be able to use a lot of things you will study. Also NX works like a vintage game console. This can be fun, but I guess things like Unity will make more sense to learn for the future.

Timo is correct, you need to focus on programming you need for your career...

But later on, you can splurge if you want to... there are still historical programming languages still in use today... an online search pulls up quite a few languages still in limited use... some were created as far back as the 1950's ;)

Dh*Phoenix 2023-04-16 12:19

haha yes i would guess that it would be better for me to focus on other languages for now. thanks for the advice!
