v0.4
Welcome to LowRes Space Program! Our suborbital class booster is the first of its kind, with the ability to reignite its engines as many times as needed. This opens the door to landing ability and reusability, except for that we don't know how.
Channel your inner rocket scientist and figure out the numbers and logistics to land our rocket!

Hold A to fire the booster, and if you land within -21.6Km/Hr velocity, you won’t die!

Welcome to the UI Update!
There are tons of new features this time around, so stick around and enjoy the new stuff!

Things added:
Complete, standardized UI:
-Labels with units
-Fuel and altimeter gauge
-Units on numbers
Clouds!
-Clouds will move according to your velocity and position, and will come back on the downturn!
-Their position is randomized every time the game starts
Some bugs, I'm sure.
-Weird numbers at high negative velocity

v0.4 patch notes:
-fixed rocket acceleration!
-sprite position now evens out around the center of the screen
-transparent text!
-background palettes fixed

Tweaks to work out:
-lots of things
-numbers get weird at s=0, not a huge deal

Things I want to add:
-atmospheric drag
-2 dimensional kinematics (long term goal)
-different levels of thrust
-better sprites and animations

Let me know what you think, and any hiscores you might achieve, i.e. maximum height with successful landing :)
Feel free to give any update suggestions!

Nice style, interested to see if you add any options to modify the craft, maybe limit fuel and make different rocket types to attach or adding an RCS system. It could be done with just a command line interface to modify the default physics applied on the rocket.

CLIGUI interesting ideas!! i’ll see what i can do ;)

You could draw some rotated character versions of this rocket to add rotation to this rocket and make it so that flying horizontally reduces the gravity force by a tiny bit until the gravity is zero and you have achieved "orbit"

LRCFresh 2024-02-23 18:41

SP4CEBAR fun fact… orbit does not mean “zero gravity” as popularly known! it actually means that you’re in a constant state of free fall, where your tangential velocity is equal to your downwards velocity. I am working on something similar though ;) Thanks for the suggestion!

Cool! I made this based on the title screen:

McPepic that is super cool! do you think i could consider this 'fanart'? ;)
