Tips to prevent data corruption

  1. Always duplicate your program whenever you mess around with the data
  2. If you are on IOS, don't use your keyboard's undo button to undo changes, it often puts the text back in the wrong place, in the data section you won't know what happened.

I corrupted all data of a big project except my main characters and palettes, I'm glad I still have my characters

Don't worry, I managed to rebuild my background, regenerate my custom ROM file, and copy the rest from a different ptoject

Tip#1 should be called the Golden Tip….. it is absolutely very helpful…

…. I would add, if you often post updates, then it isn’t necessary to keep the old copies on file as they are already stored online as older versions..

…. ALSO i would add to the Golden Tip, that is you need to overhaul code or graphics or backgrounds, do the overhaul in a separate copy… as it “IS” possible to then copy/paste blocks of BG or Char files or blocks of code into another updated version…

I definitely agree with those

Almost all my 2,880 programs ALMOST got corrupted a few weeks ago :(

SP4CEBAR 2024-11-18 16:46 (Edited)

I'm so sorry to hear that :(
Is there any hope of recovering them?

If it is iCloud drive related, maybe any of these articles may help:

Or if it's related to your physical drive, maybe any of these articles may help:

@Sylv, if you are talking about original lowres, and if you still have your original lowres app, you can hit the "community" tab at the bottom, and download any game code that are still stored there ;)

Also, to secure your code for NX, upload what you want to save as a demo... or you could also use apple cloud to save them remotely and that way any codes that are auto uploaded to the cloud can be restored
