Hi, it’s been a long while. I am here to discuss the compilation and installation of LowRes NX on the Raspberry Pi (both 32-bit and 64-but variants). I have found that the installation steps listed on this website are incomplete and the make file command will not work and in this thread, I intend to address that.
For the 32-bit variant: You will have to do a Basic Install of RetroPie or RetroArch first. (Their installation steps can be found on the RetroPie website). After the process is done, you can then proceed to this website’s installation instructions and that completed the installation process.
For the 64-bit variant: Like the 32-bit, you would have to install Retropie. After the Basic Install is done, run the last command in the terminal (by pressing the up arrow key and enter) and then go to settings and disable the splash screen. Failure to do this will result in a boot-loop upon restarting or next boot-up. After this is done, you can go to the installation process listed on the GitHub and boom, everything’s ready.
I assume that RetroPie/RetroArch has a lot of dependencies that LowRes NX (and TIC-80) need to run.
If you wish to install TIC-80 on the Raspberry Pi, installation processes for both the 32-bit OS and the 64-bit OS are different.
For the 32-bit OS: RetroPie is required. After this, go to the releases section on the GitHub for TIC-80 and look for the version 1.9.91. This is the last working version for the Raspberry Pi 32-bit OS.
For the 64-bit OS: You would need to install Waydroid and have the right config settings to use properly. From there, install the latest ANDROID version of TIC-80 and use from there. Installing the .deb file doesn’t work at all for Raspberry Pi OS 64-bit.
Just wanted to add these steps for those who might have trouble with the raspberry pi installation because the new split in OS makes installation very tricky.

Sorry if this is lengthy. I also haven’t been and won’t be making much programs for the LowRes NX anymore (not that I was to start with). This might be my last contribution here.

Hey Benimo12, you can flash windows or macOS on that raspberry pi then download LowRes NX for the pi :3

@Sylveon, I think that should also be possible but, the setup for those Operating Systems for the Pi could be a lot longer and requires a lot more resources space wise.
