I started with text games, too. The advantage is that you can invent any kind of story as long as you are able to describe it :)

Text games are my favorite... but that I don’t mean story based games cause I’m no good at stories... but I would use text characters as if they were graphic characters... periods were bullets, minus sign was a laser blast,,, T was my fav for a person....
