WOLF NX

Hey everyone, I’m back!

I used to post quite a few programs I’d written here, but you haven’t heard much from me in the last few years. Now I finally have something new to share.

Lately, I’ve been exploring vibe coding. I enjoy coming up with ideas and being creative, but I don’t have the time to really dig into programming—and I wouldn’t have had the skills to build a game like this on my own. With help from AI, I’ve been able to bring those ideas to life.

The result is Wolf NX, a little first-person shooter for LowRes NX inspired by early 3D games. Explore the rooms, gather supplies, and fight your way to the exit.

I’ve never managed to finish it on Hard myself. Maybe you’ll have better luck!

Your objective

The game has three levels, each with a different requirement for unlocking the exit:

Level 1: Find the ID card to unlock the exit.

Level 2: Activate both terminals to unlock the exit.

Level 3: Defeat the boss and collect the ID card he drops. Use it to unlock the final exit and reach freedom.

Controls

Up / Down: Move forward and backward.

Left / Right: Turn left and right.

A: Fire. Hold the button for continuous fire.

B: Open doors and activate terminals.

B + Left / Right: Strafe left and right.

Hard or Easy

On the title screen, use Up and Down to choose Hard or Easy. Your selection is highlighted in red. Press A to start.

Hard gives you the full challenge, with enemies at their normal strength.

On Easy, enemies have one-quarter of their normal movement speed, attack damage, and health. However, you can only play the first two levels. The third level is only available on Hard.

The enemies

Soldier: Fast-moving, with hard-hitting shots. Soldiers seek nearby cover, step out to fire, and retreat after taking a hit. Take your shots when they expose themselves.

Officer: Alternates between advancing and retreating, making his movements unpredictable. He moves slowly and rarely lands a shot, so stay calm and aim carefully.

Imp: Tough and armed with dangerous fireballs. Imps move at half your speed. Dodge their projectiles by strafing, or put a wall between you and the fireball.

Scientist: Moves quickly toward you and deals more damage at close range. Keep your distance—the trade-off is that scientists can’t take many hits.

Drone: A small, mobile target with a rapid rate of fire. Each hit does little damage, and drones are easy to destroy, but several at once can quickly put you under pressure.

Boss: Guards the final exit alone. He moves extremely slowly but takes 140 normal hits to defeat and immediately opens fire with his Gatling gun. Use the pillars for cover and make good use of the supplies in the room. His health bar appears when you enter the boss room and shrinks as you damage him.

Supplies and power-ups

Ammo packs replenish your ammunition.

Health packs restore your health.

ID cards unlock the relevant exits.

Hex Damage, marked by a hexagon, makes your shots deal six times their normal damage for 20 seconds. Picking up another one refreshes the timer, but the damage multiplier doesn’t stack.

Your health and ammunition carry over to the next level. Make your supplies count, and use cover to avoid taking unnecessary hits.

Have fun, and good luck fighting your way to freedom!
