This version is dithered. For the regular, get the first version
With this you don’t have to devote an entire background to your sky to make it look pretty
Not as pretty as the skies you can get in coder, but it sure has a style about it.

Nice graphics!
I used this method in my Mario Scroller Demo, too. It was typical on most color palette based game consoles and some computers (Amiga, C64, etc.) It was even used for some additional parallax layers.
