Best for PADS, not very phone friendly.....

TAP tool bar at top to pick a selection
TAP “N” button for next tool set
TAP “S” button to save current town

TAP below on the town to place your tool selection on your town...

If you make a mistake, exit program and re run program... it will reload you town from your last save

Be sure to save your town occasionally and especially before you exit if you like your town :)

If you remember Tinker Town, I’ve redesigned the interface .. also, this one saves what you design...

I’ll probably redesign this with gamepad controls.....

Now it would be cool if the curves would be automatic and you could simply draw the streets etc. in any direction!
I don't want to give you more work, only if you like to do it ;)

I’ve learned the hard way to not start big projects.... I never get them finished... the smarter way is to break down one big idea into smaller logical bits first to work out the issues for each bit..

If you’ve noticed, I’ve been quietly working on all the little bits of a maybe one day SimCity type game...

And of course my first attempt at a colony game from original lowres:
OUTPOST: MULE (space colony simulation)

Eventually, when i decide to attempt a big game, it will be more like my OUTPOST game rather than SimCity... there are just too many SimCity games out there already... ;)

was8bit 2019-07-04 17:00 (Edited)

I also like THIS game, which has a MAC version... although I lean towards the colony developement aspects, not so much the fighting part...

https://www.outpost2.net/outpost2.html

And finally I like a game I played who’s name i forget, but it combined planet colonizing with space exploration and expansion, so you couldn’t explore NEW territory of space until you build up your colony on your existing planet... once you have developed one planet well enough your done developing it and it converts into a contributing resource.... it’s kinda like the SPACE map plays much like the COLONY map does.. in the colony map, your farms and factories produce resources and pathways link your colony together... on the space map, your planets produce resources and you have space trade routes that connect your planets together....

With map saving, I can FINALY do this... your space map is your main game, and your colony map is you developing your latest discovered planet...

I already have an idea for different planets with different developement strategies from an old board game I used to play and different space resources from another board game I used to play,,.

I’d like to attempt a simple version of this concept as my next big project.... I’m just about there ;)

was8bit 2019-07-04 17:09

So, I’ll probably first make a mini colonial game, then make a mini space trade game, and then put the 2 together....

Better keep it simple. If you already know it will be a big project, start with the most important basics and keep your focus on making it fun.

was8bit 2019-07-07 17:24

Yea, I tried a start and already it was too complicated... sometimes I have to wait for the right inspiration, which apparently I don’t have yet for that game..
