Version 1.0 Fully Playable
.... needs to have WIN scenarios added...
1.7 robber and events work now..
1.7b deworked game goals set...

TOP section show what resources you have and can use
GREEN section is the game MAP
BLUE section is the ACTION pad
WIN DATA section is above the map in white text

- LEFT shows win goal code
- MIDDLE # shows min score needed
- RIGHT #'s show goal #'s

There are 4 mode buttons at top: MOVE, FARM, MAKE, BUILD
You match 3 identical things to do that thing...
FIRST: start by touching a tile you want
SECOND: slide your finger to nearby matches
THIRD: upon your third identical match, it does the action
... matches may be orthogonal (easy) and or diagonal (hard)

MOVE mode will move the highlight over on the green map... this is where things will happen (like build or farm)
FARM mode (if highlighted on one of your buildings) will let you gather resources from nearby farms
MAKE mode makes roads and buildings (from your farm resources) to be built later
BUILD mode will build roads or a village or build upgrades

Sometimes you can't farm what you need... you can TRADE at a ratio of 10 resources for 1 needed resource.. here's how...
- TAP the orange double-arrow 10 - 1 button at the top right
- Then, resources that you have +10 are green on the left, TAP one
- Then, on the right, TAP the resource you need 1 of
- FINALLY, TAP the OK button to do the trade
- TAP "NO" to exit without trading
... if you don't follow all of these rules, trading won't occur...

ROBBER may steal farming resources
EVENTS may destroy built buildings or roads

GAME RULES, CHARTS, and other stuff are added at the top of the written game code

@TIMO, yes i've seen that you like Catan. And I hope I do this justice... i personally own 4 copies of the original Catan (for making big islands) all the extentions, and even a german version of Starfares of Catan ;) do I need to say that i an a BIG FAN OF
catan ;) (oh, and i also own playing card versions and dice versions)

@DJMoffinz, Catan... the bluefield will be the "input"or "action" field, and the green field is a variation of a Catan board...

It will be a single solitaire...

the blue field will be a dynamic match ... you be able to match ACTIONS like move the highlighter on the gameboard, BUILDING (or upgrading) things where the highlighter is at on the game board... or FARMING resources you will need for building things (via matching like resources)

The dynamic part comes from that the resources that may appear on the blue board is based on what you have built on the game board, and what resources you have built beside... so if you have built a farm beside clay (bricks) you will, start seeing single clay as a matchable item... if you have a city beside rock (stone) then you will start seeing triple rock as a matchable item...

single,double,triple of same resource can match and add up... so 1clay+2clay+3clay would all match for a total of 6 clay resources...

Im considering the goals... maybe a few different ones... 3 cities could be one goal...

Anyway, we shall see ... it took a lot of trial attempts and i think i have everything i need to finish this game :)

I've been testing the movement pad, and it isn't the easiest thing to find the direction you want, so I am thinking it would be impossible to add all the other options on the same pad..

I might add buttons above it that selects the TYPE of action you want... MOVE, BUILD, FARM... that way the pad only shows options for the action type selected...

Any feedback ?

I’m not a big fan of Catan, I just played it a few times. It’s very popular in Germany. The mobile game was a project in the company I worked for. They also made Catan Universe and Catan for the Nintendo Switch, but I’m not involved anymore.

The new version looks great!👍 But I just noticed that when I slide my finger across two of the same blue tiles, both light up, is that supposed to happen?

Yup... actually try to match 3 same tiles, and see what happens to the highlight over on the green map ;)

Matching is done by sliding your finger ... once you lift your finger it cancels and resets the matching process...

... i am considering maybe changing this or leaving it as is... i was wondering if anyone likes this method or not...

... i will try adding BUILD mode to the blue section first, and see if people can build buildings and roads OK with the current matching method....

NEXT to add is FARM mode which allows getting resources from farms.. this i will slightly change... you get the yield per match based in the chart at the top of the game code... based in the farms surrounding a highlighted building...

You can collect farming resources...

NEXT will be the MAKE mode that uses farming resources to make more roads and buildings that you can then build on the map...

I just found out that if you line it up right, you can light up squares in the blue section diagonally, is this a bug?

Nope, that is the hard match...

technically speaking when you first touch the blue section it records WHAT you first touch (say, on MOVE mode you first touch an UP)

Then you must drag your finger to get 2 more matching squares... if the other 2 squares match what you first touch then its a complete match :)

This system cancels out and resets if you lift you finger before a complete match, or when a square you touch doesnt match the first square you touched,,,

If you dont lift your finger after a successful match, it simple waits until you do lift your finger, which resets it

If you are trying to get 3 to match but hit another square, the system will immediately reset and use that different square as the first square..

Best practice is to plan which 3 you want, and go for them by trying to press those 3 and lift... IF you are going for diagonals, you can try just swiping back and forth over the 3 you want until the diagonal "takes" or "catches" and gives you the match :)

I know for sure 3 CITIES should be one win scenario...

And also a straight up TOTAL POINT scenario of say 10 points (vill=1,town=2,city=3)

Maybe one for 10 connected roads + 5 points

... any other ideas ???

So, I have also added 3more scenarios... each will require 7 points ... plus
One adds several lakes which simply block where you can build
One adds a robber who blocks the center square but also randomly steals farm resources
One adds random events like lose all sheep, or a built building burns down and is lost

Hey, DJMoffinz, i love your music :D if you would like to do a little ditty for the title sceen (i will make a better title screen) then of course you will get FULL credit :)

I was inspired by this little ditty...
Of course we don't need but just a very tiny piece like you did for thunderation... i like the up and down of the flute... very old world celtic sounding :)

If'n you wanted too... :) I myself don't want to ruin the game with my music so it is currently music-less

I have compared your final version with the link, and we have the same chord progrssion, but out final version i believe is different enough... its rythm is different... i actually like your version better..., its more "gamey" :)

After i get the code for game winning done, i will still tweak it to fine tune the different scanarios...

Next time, try for 9 points, thats 3pnts/city 2pnts/town, and 1pnt/village ... with 10 connected roads...
