Voxel 3d test

3

Jonnywhateva 2019-12-20 04:28

Read about sparse voxel octrees and thought I would try and make a 3d voxel program. Currently doesn't run. I'm just having difficulty finding the time and motivation to work on it right now. If anyone wants to use my code and finish it, have at it. In theory once it's complete it should quickly render transform and render a model without the noticeable triangles. Might even be possible to add lighting effects, was an idea I played with anyway. If I get the time I'll try and pick it back up if no one else already has.

i got a syntax error

Jonnywhateva 2019-12-20 20:16

Yeah, it is not a program in condition to be run at all. I didn't get to that point. I just don't have the time to work on it, but I'd hate to just see it vanish. So if anyone wants to take the code for their own use they can. I uploaded a number of unfinished programs recently for the same reason

Jonnywhateva, hi again! Because this program has a syntax error right from the start as mentioned above by Mrlegoboy, it won't even load into NX, and the code therefore cannot be run or seen. It's impossible to edit or complete the code, because it errors out right from the word go. I suppose you're able to edit it to make it at least 'workable', so is it possible for you to at least get it into that state so we can run it, and see the code? πŸ€” Many thanks Jonnywhateva! πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

Jonnywhateva 2019-12-21 00:12

I can do that. I'll re upload it in just a bit.

Jonnywhateva 2019-12-21 00:15

There, it must have uploaded an older version the first time. I honestly didn't even change anything. It seems to start without a syntax error at least though now.

Thanks once again Jonnywhateva! Good job! At least now someone can possibly make use of your fantastic code! I'm not at the stage of familiarity with NX yet myself that I could personally do anything with it, however some of the other coders here such as was8bit, Mrlegoboy or even Timo himself WILL be 'itching' to maybe try something with this! So many thanks for fixing it up for them, and for sharing with all of us! πŸ˜ƒπŸ‘ŒπŸ˜ŠπŸ™

Oh, . . And . . . Merry Christmas Jonnywhateva! πŸŽ…πŸ€ΆπŸŽ„πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘
