This is a deep parallax scrolling asset showing a landscape which could be shown in games like Shadow of the Beast on the Commodore Amiga computers.
I used the raster to achieve the effect.
Feel free to use it for your own projects. ๐

Thank you was8bit, however it was a little more than a simple picture, itโs a real multiplane parallax scrolling. However I noticed that effectively the scrolling was completely frozen on the first version, because of a bug when the scroll speed was manipulated outside the raster (and in fact for a reason I cannot figure out: sometimes it works and sometimes not). I simplified the code, and uploaded the file again, now it should work as expected.

Timo, yes I agree... Perhaps one of these days I would decide to reproduce the Shadow of the Beast scrolling as close as possible as the original version :) However I just wanted to test an idea I had about how to implement multiple parallax scrolling, but not especially the SOTB one, which I only used as a base to create my landscape (obviously it was the closest one to test my idea ;) ). I offered this work as an asset, because I doesn't plan to use it for now, and perhaps (I hope) it may serve for others. I would be curious to see what other people can do with it...

It is quite beautiful :)
I noticed abit of a 3d effect at the bottom where it look like a bit of branch where you can see thru a hole in it and see the more distant movement ... I think accentuating that 3d effect with a bigger thing at the front would really make that 3d effect pop!

was8bit, I will check that as soon as I get a few time for me :)

What is the bridge looking structure at the bottom
Timo 2020-04-18 09:37
Should be a fence. Here is a video of the inspiration source of this scroller: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73JBaFkNZaE

Those mountains are pretty! They inspired some of the background tiles in my upload here.
