A love letter to games like Bangai-O and Hover Attack. It is nearing the token limit so, sadly, this might be as far as I get on it. Enjoy the heat-seeking rockets and reflective laser goodness and use any code you like.

I've noticed that the browser version plays faster than the app version. The music is a dead giveaway.

Wow, This is really good! Nice job.

J.Koher, how much faster? Like twice?
I think I just assume that the refresh rate of all displays is 60 Hz. Not sure now, if there is a cap.

I noticed the same thing. It started happening after I got a new laptop. The entire console just runs faster. I’d say approximately twice as fast. I could get a video of it if you want.

One can adjust the gameplay by adjusting the WAIT values...
Also, i believe it is also possible to adjust the music timing ...
McPepic 2023-06-26 15:17
The problem is only with the browser version. It runs faster than 60 fps. It's true that you can modify the timings in the code, but you only have access to the code after downloading the program.

LowRes NX should run at 60 Hz (fps) by definition, but it might not be well implemented.
Adjusting with higher waiting times in the BASIC code would be a bad solution.
This is something I would want to fix when I have time again… which might be end of the year…
was8bit 2023-06-26 19:13 (Edited)
Well, the browser already cannot do gamepad controllers, and only limited touchscreen, and also cannot do randomize timer, and cannot save data, so a slightly higher operation speed just another thing...
You "can" design games specifically for non apple phones (see my ME page) but otherwise the browser is mostly for a sneak peek, and really one should get the app and download their favorite games ( i download everything ;) )
McPepic 2023-06-26 20:42
Actually, the gamepad does work. It just doesn't display on the screen, but you can use it on PC. The point was really that LowRes doesn't run at the correct speed in the browser, which Timo said was due to refresh rate.

Ah, i was referencing its limitations on cell phones ...
McPepic 2023-06-27 00:43
That would do it. I just checked and my refresh rate is 144 Hertz. So it's actually running more than twice as fast.
J.Koher 2023-07-15 15:53
It's just a little bit faster. My refresh rate is 75 Hertz on my PC monitor
