I was just getting back into using LowRes again and I pasted a sprite without first copying anything and this strange sprite appeared. I was wondering if anyone knew what causes this.
I will post a picture of it if I can recreate it.

Turns out it only happens after you save a background and then past and it is different some times.

havent checked the code to confirm but its maybe due to the background being copied into ram at the same location the sprite pasting code uses?

also what is that program / file version number??!

I think so too, the paste buffer shares memory space with other things... but is not cleaned up after use ðŸ¤

I was just experimenting some more and I managed to get the entire sprite raster and background erased and replaced with another strange pattern by saving the main characters from the background file section of the background viewer. I did not need to copy or past for these sprites to appear.

The anomaly seems to be in the background file section, which you can only access from the background editor, at least on iPad. But that is as far as my investigation got.

The original file was going to be a sequel to Smooth Brain The Game, I wanted to make an actually funny game out of it. But I am just going to rest for now. I want it to be a CLI game that uses a touchscreen rather then a keyboard.

You can select and save different file types... so, say you accidentally load and save one file type as another file type, you get weird results...
So make sure you are loading and editing and saving the same type file...
Also, once you like one edit, duplicate it and use different numbers on the duplicate so if at any point you mess up, you can reduplicate from the last good update so you dont loose everything
Lile FILE 0.10 then FILE 0.11 etc...

Also make sure when editing graphics, you SAVE frequently... im too tired right now to give you the exact instances when those artifacts will crop up, but saving each good edit is always a good habit ;)
